New Year, New Ear!
and Psalm 25 for 2025

Happy New Year, everyone! I pray that you are having a good start to 2025. I had an enjoyable Christmas break with my wife Ammi and our children. God is good! Every Christmas we try to attend a Christmas Eve candle light service, and this year we went to one hosted by Renovation Church in Simpsonville, SC. It was a beautiful service. Christ was worshipped, cherished, and honored. Praise God! Here is a short video clip from the service.
Now that we have entered into the new year, I sense that we are in a new season, not just for me and my family, but for the whole world. What am I hearing from the Lord? The first thing I heard was “New Year, New Ear!” Now what does that mean? The Lord directed me to Isaiah 50:4—
The Lord God has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.
I have known this verse for many years and meditated on it years ago. It is interesting that the Lord is highlighting this verse to me now.
I feel that God is giving those who are desiring to draw closer to Him a new level of sensitivity to the voice of God. We will hear Him more clearly, and we will hear His voice more often. There will be a constant stream of us hearing God speaking to us, as our ability to “tune in” to Him is magnified!
I don’t mean that we will all just start hearing the audible voice of God. God speaks in various ways, and for me, most of the time God speaks to me as a thought delivered into my mind, or as an impression and nudging of the Holy Spirit. And of course, God speaks to me through Scriptures. For each person there may be an unique way that God speaks, highly personal because He is a personal God who desires an intimate relationship with you!
This verse also indicates that in addition to hearing God, we will speak as messengers of God to help others! God will teach our tongues to speak His words to minister to people. You can pray into this verse and ask that this Scripture become a reality in your life. In 2025, believe for a supernatural increase in your ability to listen to God’s voice, and the boldness to release God’s message to the world.
Another Scripture passage I that sensed was vital to 2025 is Psalm 25. Instead of me commenting on this psalm right here, I think it is best for you to read it yourself and see what the Lord speaks to you about it as you read it.
May the blessings of God be poured out in abundance over your life in 2025!
