Dear friends, as you may know, I went on a short-term mission trip to Ecuador in late July, and it was an amazing trip! Click here to read my mission letter explaining the purpose of the trip. I went with a team of eight other people, including two great team leaders, and we had a wonderful time in the Lord!
During our time in Ecuador, we worked with Pan de Vida church in Atucucho, Quito. Pan de Vida has an extraordinary outreach that feeds the children of the local community. They have served Atucucho for over 27 years. Half of our team was helping to build a bathroom for the home of a beloved leader of Pan de Vida. The other half was focused on ministering to the children. As for me, I was involved with children's ministry and also violin worship. I did not bring a violin with me on the trip, but the Lord prepared one over there for me to play, and there was tremendous breakthrough in the worship! I will share more about this story later.
Ecuador is extremely beautiful. We were around 10,000 ft elevation most of the time, with surrounding volcanoes over 15,000 ft. There is a lot of poverty, but I believe our team had an impact and accomplished the assignment that God had for us. Thank you for all your prayers and support!
Below are some photo highlights from the trip, taken with my camera and a team leader’s camera. I am planning to write a more detailed mission report soon. If you are interested in going on a mission trip to Ecuador, you can go to Far Flung’s website and check out the description of their annual trip there, working with Pan de Vida. Their trip is excellent for those who are going on missions for the first time, and for seasoned missionaries as well. If you are just “getting your feet wet” in missions, Far Flung’s Ecuador trip is a good place to start!
